NonprofitScan is a free transparency tool that makes IRS nonprofit data accessible to everyone. We provide searchable profiles for over 1.8 million US tax-exempt organizations, complete with financial data from their 990 tax filings.

Our Data

All data on NonprofitScan comes from public, government sources. We use the IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File (EO BMF) for organization information and the ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer API for multi-year financial filing data. All of this information is public domain per IRS disclosure requirements.
